TAIP is Coming to YouTube

Note from the editor: We are officially live! Tune into our first episode on ways NOT to move to France below, and remember to hit like and subscribe — as always, your support means the world to us. — MS

For those of you who don’t know, I’ve been involved in The American in Paris for several years now. Stephen initially welcomed me into the fold as a guest writer, then we wrote the book, 29 Days to France, together, and eventually, I was brought on to the site in a much more important way when my content creation company, Plume, acquired it in July 2024.

Since then, I’ve kept things mostly the same — we release a new article weekly, have brought on many more guest writers, and even have a dedicated accountant and tax specialist recommendations page, something that has certainly been a long time coming! We have also continued to share valuable information on working remotely in France, a subject that is often debated, especially in the American expat world (and yes, we still stand by everything published here).

Something I’ve been really excited to bring to TAIP is a larger online presence. I know most of our readers enjoy just that — reading our articles and scouring through the comments sections. But, I also know there is a whole group of internauts who prefer to get their information via video. And so, an idea to bring our content to YouTube was born.

I am so excited to announce that we will be launching The Americans in Paris YouTube channel this Wednesday, April 2, with a live episode airing at 9pm CET/3pm EST. It will be the first of our weekly lives in which Stephen and I pick a subject, talk about it, and answer any community questions.

From there, you can expect a weekly solo episode from each of us, something we are both very much looking forward to. Not only will this give us more opportunities to share with you all, but it also means we’ll be able to show our personalities a bit more — expect us to be more playful, and maybe a little more relatable, in our videos than we are in our articles 🙂

In the meantime, make sure to subscribe and tune in on Wednesday. We’re so excited to continue to share with you all via this new platform.
